Daft question on the difference between........

...................DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM.

I've got a Tosh RDXS34 and have copied a few family videos onto the hard drive.

I would now like to archive the videos onto DVD disc, but after RTFM , I'm still no further forward.

Hopefully someone can tell me the difference and which would be the best for archiving.

Many thanks.

DVD-R is what you want to use - such discs are compatible with virtually all DVD players and thus are ideal. Use DVD-RW if you just want a temporary copy to play on another DVD player. And use DVD-RAM for keeping a VR mode backup.

Remember that DVDR media is not particularly durable - so for important recordings burn multiple discs.
