Copy audio from DVD-R to CD-R

Hi,
I'd like to copy the audio tracks from a DVD-R onto a CD-R, and am completely new to this.
Do I need special software, do I have to buy this or is there freeware available?

Try a google search for a programme called DVD Audio Ripper.
