kernel32 error message with sonicstage

Please help - this is driving me mad.

I have just bought a sony NW-HD3 and I can not get the sonicstage software to work. It installs and opens OK but when ever I try to perform a function in it the following message comes up "omgjbox has casued an error in kernel32.dll omgjbox will now close" and I have to close sonicstage. I have got windows ME and from what I gather this seems to be the problem, however I have tried everthing recommended (installing new version from sony, updating files from microsoft, downloading patches) but nothing works.

Is there a way of fixing this please!?
