red dab radio

I have a Red D A B mains/ portable radio, exclusive to Sainsburys. When its on mains its great but as soon as i have it on batteres after a while it makes a gurgling like sound .Then it says no signal also the screen display goes blank, the volume does not work.It does the same also on F M i know the batteres are brand new has anybody a clue what itcould be.Most of the mags gave it 5 stars and thats why brought it. :lease:

Think you might have a faulty unit there mate.

I've had the DB7 since the weekend and have used mains and battery (Duracell), the radio seems fine using both so far.

I have heard the unit is extremely hard on batteries, are you using rechargeable types?

By the way, do you know what the "DRC RATING" option under Menu is for? It can be set 0, 0.5 and 1, but doesn't seem to make any difference.
