Caton CD1 Sub - cabling

Hello.

I don't know if this is the right place, but here we go anyway...

We've just bought the Canton Movie CD1 speaker setup and am about to buy the cables to go with it. I'm going to get some QED Silver Micro for them all.

But I was wondering about the Sub cable? I wanted to get a reasonable sub cable, but my other half is telling me it's not worth spending any money on one because there is an adapter that we have to use to make the connection into 2 plugs rather than 1. He says that there's no point buying a decent cable as any benefit would be lost when it goes through this adapter?

Does anybody have any opinions on this?

Thanks
Ruth

Mornin'

It is worth going for a mid priced cable at least, something like the QED entry-level which is £25 for 3M's.

What is this adaptor you have? and why do you need to go from 2 to 1? is it the phono's you are talking about? Your amp will probably only have one sub phono out (unless it is a THX Ultra specification) and the sub will have one or two phono input's, but you can just use one!

Regards

Hi Hayes

The adapter is 1 to 2... IE the sub cable is a single to single , but the sub has 2 inputs... I thought you could just use 1 input on the sub, but wasn't sure. Now I am - thanks to Jake James who just sent me a PM about it.

Cheers - it all becomes clear!
