View Full Version : Price increase on Sony 10HT LCD projector?
Been told by a dealer that Sony are due to revise (presumably upwards!) the price of the 10HT LCD projector on 1st October - anyone know if this is true or just a ploy to make me buy one now?

The price in the UK has not changed since the product launch. In the US the price rose by $1000 I think after about 3 months....
I'll check with our contact and see what's what.

Hi Paul,
Just checked with the official UK Sony Custom Installer distributor for this product and they assure me that the UK price is stayng as it is £5000 + VAT.
Of course, if the price goes up in foreign markets that may well affect "grey" import prices.....

I've already replied to Paul by email but for everyone else.....
I was mislead, by accident, by our contact. Sony announced on Oct 1st that there would be no UK recommended retail price fo rthis unit. They are also re-structuring the dealer pricing of it. This should give a consistent price to the dealer throughout the world....hopefully.
I suspect this will result in authorised dealers being able to compete with mail order grey market dealers more easily. Time will tell.
