defragging a hd3?

has anyone tried this? i was just defragging my pc drive but had my hd3 plugged in and it came up as defraggable, is it worth doing? it sounds like a good idea to me but id like to hear if anyone else has tried it first.

Not sure I see the point. It's not as if the device relies on high data transfer rates. If you frequently transfer significant numbers of tracks on and off the device, you might get a few minutes extra battery life - if the files are heavily fragmented, the HD head might need to thrash about a bit to load the file, but I doubt it's something that'd happen from general use.

There is nothing in any of the mnauls to suggest this needs to be done. I wouldn't bother.
