Unhappy O2 : I-Mate JAM \ XDA Mini? when?

Hi all

I'm with O2 (UK).

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/08/o2_xda_ii_mini/

I'm quite sure when they get to distribute the above phone/pda
there will be even better deals than the current XDA 2i deals.

Does anyone have any idea about when 02 will have this product?

The last thing I want to do is go for one the deals below only to
find that via O2 it's cheaper via upgrade and may have the extra
128MB Upgrade pre-installed for a nominal fee.

What do you guys reckon?

I have called every section of O2, be it new phone sales, technical support
line, customer complaints!! etc etc and no one has any idea about this.
I did call around all the stores in the London area and pieced together
whatever I could and they reckon it will be around July. But even then
this is not 100%. I am little bit dissapointed about this as O2 are a little
behind T-Mobile... who have the same device called the MDA Compact
currently available.....

I can guarantee that O2 will never offer the 128mb RAM model as this is retro fitted by PPCTechs in the States, the old RAM chips are destroyed and the new ones fitted. HTC have no intention of releasing a 128mb native version of this model (unless they decide to make a Magician2/Jam2 which will probably have wifi too) and the process also invalidates the manufacturers warranty.

I have had the T-Mobile MDA compact since February, brilliant phone! Complete git to use one handed i find though, and a bit impractical for taking out, but my old SPV C500 fills in those duties

I'm waiting for this too, but the best sales could tell me today was "it's in the pipeline", but that it could be available any time "within the next six months". Way to go O2.

Looks like they'll be losing another customer very soon...

I got a QTEK S100 and works lovely on O2. Just copied the O2 desktop off my XDA2i onto it. Way to go

its weird i ordered a silicon case for my mda compact from expansys.co.uk and inside the case there was a card cutout of the phone except it was a branded o2 one, which is kind of unusual as they dont even have one out yet.
