Hi,

I have a Denon 2910 and i'm trying to connect via DVI to my LG RZ42PY10 Plasma, but TV shows says no siginal. I've checked the settings, i.e DVI is switched on e.t.c, but no joy

I've tried changing from 480, 720 to 1080 e.t.c :(

Plasma definatley excepts DVI ok as I've hooked up my PC with no problem. Component from 2910 works fine and picture is awesome, but I know I'm not getting HD which is why I bought the kit in the first place. 2910 has latest MR firmware downloaded from this site as I thought my previous firmware maybe the problem, but still no joy.

Any ideas?

As a test I set the 2910 to DVI and unplugged the DVI cable from the plasma and the 2910 panel flashed the small DVI text to notify there was a problem, so that possibly rules out a dead DVI port.

Are there any hidden menu's on the 2910 for DVI settings or on the Plasma if anyone has one of these?

Thanks for any help.

is your plasma HDCP compatible? i think dvd players with DVI/HDMI outputs will only work on displays that are compatible with this copy protection system.

Hi Shortround,

To be honest I don't know if the screen supports HDCP I will try and find out - thanks.

Is there a way to get around this? i.e. a DVI device that provides compatibility that the DVD is connected to and then this connect to the plasma?

Some players have a hack that disables the HDCP - no idea if the 2910 is one of these though

Thanks.

I don't think the HDCP can be disabled on this player - or Denon sure wouldnt dare reveal it!

In the meantime I'll try a HDMI to DVI cable or even another DVI cable, just in case this works.

Fixed

Used a HDMI to DVI cable and have set HDMI to CYMK and have my screen running at 1080i - all I can say is wow  Have never seen an image better on anything
