Had my player for about 3 months, maybe a bit more.
Dont really use it every day or anything. Mostly weekends.

But yesterday in the middle of watching a DVD an amazingly loud noise started up. At first i thought it migh be the TV or even the Amp , but no, it was the player.

I turned it off and the noise slowly subsided. Now any time I put in a disk and the disk starts up the noise comes back. It stops once the DVD is loaded but if u start watching the DVD the nouse gradually comes back!

It appears as though its a problem with the Drive or the disk pick up or something.

Im a bit dissapointed with Denons build quality.
My last DVD player was a pioneer and I never had a single problem with it.

I expected more from a 1000 pound player!

I think a call back to your supplier is needed! My beef with my supplier is that I was sold a MR player that didn't have the upgrade done!! I now have to decide do I have the nerve to do it myself?

Conor.

I did the MR firmware myself as they dont seem to bother using them in japan.
Its easy as long as you follow the instructions.

As for my supplier, well since I bought the player on line and got a large disscount, the shop basically washed its hands and told me to contact Denon for repairs.

Somone from Denon is supposed to come on Monday to fix the problem.

I tried to explain that its a problem with the drive and that I doubt they will be able to fix with in my home!. It will need opeing up. But they insisted.

I bet they will have to take it away for repairs!
(Why are people so dumb?)

I bet they will try to blame the problem on the fact that I used the MR firmware and now watch R1 DVDs!
They always try to find an excuse to avoid doing anything. They must think we are stupid!

Ill let you know how things go on monday!

As I expected.
They came and after i explained the problems my player has, they said they would have to take it back to Denon HQ.

Now I need to wait 10 days before i can get it back

Again, this is ridiculous for a 1000 quid DVD player.

I have had a few DVD players in the past and have never had so many problems. In fact none before now!

This may be my first and last denon!
