How good is DAB in the car?

I'm sufficiently impressed with my DAB Roberts radio in the house that I'm thinking of putting DAB into my VW Golf. There don't appear to be too many on sale at the moment, and they look pricey, too. So my questions are:
1) Is DAB in the car viable? I live in SE London and rarely drive more than 50 miles from central London
2) What are the best models? Blaupunkt's Woodstock range look attractive to me.
3) Is professional fitting recommended? Halfords don't permit home fitting for some reason
4) Do you need a second aerial?

Thanks!
