Pure Bug DAB Radio

Hope this is the best forum to ask in.

http://www.thebug.com/

Anyone got one of these? Look pretty good to me. Will it let you set it to save any programme with a certain word in the title, 'Lamacq' for example? Is it easy to set a one off timer recording? What's the sound quality like? Comparible to a mini hifi or is it as bad as my alarm clock radio?

Many questions sorry!

Thanks in advance,

Ben

The sound quality is good, much better that a alarm radio. I demo'd quite a few before buying as was impressed. Timer recordings are straight forward. Don't think you can record from a name in a title mind you.

Click here for the pdf manual.

There is trial firmware (v1.3) with EPG update available.

Thanks guys, I went ahead and bought a white one

I'm pleased on the whole; SQ is pretty impressive and the pausing live radio is neat. I've had a few niggles with it though - if recording to SD (Viking 512mb) for longer than an hour and 20mins or so, the sound will start to 'skip' and eventually get stuck in a loop like a scratched CD. I'm hoping the new firmware will solve this, have just installed 1.3. This has solved another issue which annoyed me which was the length you have to hold the button to switch the thing off!

Does anyone know how to switch the speakers on during recording if you originally had it set to silent record? Can't find this in the manual.

Cheers,

Ben

I'll have to try the new firmware, the wife hates the long "turn off" press.

Ps
It sounds great, but can sound slightly limited in the treble area compared to a normal set of speakers etc. But ours is used in the kitchen, so not a big deal anyway.....we love it
