Post TOSHIBA rptv CALIBRATION (NOT AGAIN)

Toshiba (40pw8db)
It seems all us toshiba owners are desperate to get our tv's setup properly.

Is there anyone, I mean anyone or anywhere I can actually read about every step of calibration etc in the service menus. I've already done a convergence which worked very well.

Living on the Isle of Wight does anyone know anyone who would setup my tv perfectly (i'm getting desperate can u tell). Cos Toshiba don't seem to cover the Iow. I would happilypay for this service.

help, help, help................

p.s. does anyone know where i can get syndicate wars for PC??

Do a search via google under the uk.media.home-cinema newsgroup for "toshiba service menu" and you will find many hints and tips regarding the various toshiba models.

Some will be relevent to the CRT models, others will be relevent to the RPTV.

Toshiba service menus are mentioned an awful lot in there.

If your thinking of changing settings in the service menu make sure you write down all the setting before you start, so When you mess it up (and you will) you can get it back to how it was.
Service menus should carry a health warning, they are evil and nasty places for those who cant tell their RCUT 60 from their PARA H09

You could try the following site.
Although mainly focuses on the US Toshiba models, most of the information can also be related to the UK models.

There are also loads of hints an tips on how to fine tune other aspects of the picture performance.
http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/usefulinfo/toshiba/toshiba_tips.html
