Philips new Flat Panel Technology-AMOLED(LTPS)

This is Philips name for their new Flat Panel Technology. It is technically very interesting, I'm sure, but it's the title that attracted my attention..are you ready.....and this is a quote...

"Also making its US debut at CES 2005 will be the company's AMOLED display prototype, the worlds largest single plate low temperature polysilicone (LTPS) technology-based active matrix organic light emitting diode example...."

Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

Anyway, yet another in the long line of SED's, OLEDS etc that are going to take over the world, and consign our tongues to the shredder..

That's just a type of OLED panel. When the current crop of LCD monitors were introduced, they were probably described as amorphous silicon twisted nematic active matrix liquid crystal displays... hmm, A-Si TNAM LCD ;)
