The only disc I have from the USA is Blondie Live in New York. This was advertised as not region coded, but I had to apply the remote hack to my Proline DVD1000 before the disc would play. This has presumably set my machine to region 0.
After reading a lot about RCE, I decided to test the reversal procedure (from the dvd-reviewer site) to see if I could switch my player back to R2, just in case RCE is ever used in Region 2. The procedure is supposed to be "Return" followed by "Play" with a Region 2 disc in the open tray. But after doing this, my machine will still play the Blondie disc. Can anyone confirm that the above reversal procedure is correct? Regards, Darrell. |
