This forum crashes IE 6 every now and then, or is it just me?
As soon as I click on any thread titles I get an error message - will try to upload it.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?
Thanks in advance

This should probably be in the Forum notices and feedback forum.

Well nobody else is reporting problems so it must be your machine.
Also I won't be able to do anything abut it without knowing exactly what you do to make IE crash.

This also happens to me at University so it isn't just Scatter. It only happens on this site too. If I click on any link that opens up a new window, that message appears and IE closes down.

Has happened to me a number of times in the last week or two. Only seems to happen on the 1st post I try to view ie I'll click view new posts and all will come up OK but the 1st actual post I click on will produce the error. After IE restarts all seems to be fine for the rest of the day?
I'm using a Win2K box with IE 6 SP1.
Looking in the application log it's giving the following error...
The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Internet Explorer ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: iexplore.exe, 6.0.2800.1106, embd3260.dll, 6.0.7.885, 0001aaed.
A google search on embd3260.dll brings up a load of pages to do with a real player exploit.
Not sure if that helps at all - as I say, it's only started happening in the last week or two and only with this site.

I have absolutely no idea what it is. I don't use IE and I have no problems at all with Firefox.
I'll need to know exactly what pages it's happening on.
Can you please try removing all your cookies, clearing cache and seeing if it still happens?
There is no realplayer content on the site.
