Ohms

First of all, don't know if this should come under amps or speakers but i will guess here.

Been reading my manual and it says i should only buy speakers that match the recommened ohms (something like that anyway) for my amp.

anyone have a link or a guide to what this and other av tech meens in my language


also is it best to go above or lower of the recommended?


Noob question i know, but hey i am a noob and proud

and also ( i know again ) what is immpedence?

Generally above, i.e. chose 8 Ohm over 4 Ohm.

AC (alternate current) resistance. Impedance is not a constant, it varies with frequency.
DC (direct current) resistance in comparision is a constant.
