Post Suggested Classified Categories

In the Classified forum is it possible to have a drop down filter to reduce the lists. Rather then using the search facility. It takes ages to search through them and they soon get moved down the page order adn get lost.

ie : first select Sales or Wanted then select category

Amps
Speakers > Main, surround, sub
CD players
DVD players

Plus maybe an option of selecting manufacturer as well.

Of course this would mean a structured form when submiting an advert, but well worth it !!!

It seems that for every person who wants to structure the classifieds, there are people who don't.

Actually if it were possible (which I'm not sure it is - sounds particularly complicated) - this isn't such a bad idea.

The default page would of course include everything, just with a filtering system to make it easier to find specific items.

As stated a form world need to be filled in when each item is posted.

Can't say I've ever seen anything like this as a hack on other forums but it would certainly go a long way to appease both sets of voters...

on www.hififorsale.com you can select a filter before looking at classifieds.

My proposal would be that if you dont use the filter then you leave the screen as it is now. Keeps everyone happy.

I just know through experience that you can miss a few sales which dissappear off down the >> pages before you get chance to view them. To keep on viewing lots of pages takes to much time imho. Mind you not complaining that much as I've just sold my subs in 2 hours !
