Got the Rotels!!

Hey peepz,

Got the Rotel RSP-1068 and RMB-1075 yesterday and wow what an improvement its made to my system!

Very happy bunny lol

Just shows that technology moves on very quickly and its blown away my old NAD S250/S170 combo

Does anyone else have this combination?, if so what do you reckon?

Virtually that combination...

Got the 1068, with 985MK II for the rears, about 5w per channel less than the 1075 and 2 x 1070 bi-amping the fronts.

Sounds great. At first it took getting used to because the sound envelopes you so much in a movie that you don't actually notice any of the speakers. It's like there are no speakers just sound all around you in the appropriate places.

The stereo side is also very nice. I've tried it with the sub on and off, but with my floorstanders I prefer to have no sub when listening in stereo.

Hi Peter.

Glad to hear it

i have a RSP1066, RB1080/2x 981's (soon to be a 993). it sounds great, i'm suprised that the 250 power amp is not as good as a RB1075.

makes me wonder about trying a RSP1068.....no no don't do it

Go on... you know you want to listen to one.

I think the stereo performance is the biggest improvement in the the 1068.

go on....

I am still very impressed with the Rotels and wont hesitate to buy another amp if I ever needed to go to 7.1 instead of 5.1

Now I am busy saving up for the RDV-1060 to replace my trusty Panasonic.

Stereo performance is really good and I am now finding myself listening to more and more albums.

Jon.... Go on you know you want to buy one!

How do the Rotels work with the Quads mate? I'm thinking of a Power amp later in the year, and the Rotel range is on my list.

no i cant maybe later in the year, the 1066 is the only item i have paid full price for and i'd be a bit miffed if i only get £500 notes for it.

then again i wouldn't mind a meridian processor

Kazman, They work together really well, the Rotel amp powers the speakers with ease which is what I was after and it doesnt distort at all even (sometimes) at high volume levels.

Are you saying that there's a noticable difference in the stereo performance between a 1066 and a 1068? I've been considerin a used 1066, but if that's the case, then maybe a rethink is in order.

Yeap, I have to agree that the rotel pre/Power combos make a hell of a difference I upgraded from a Yamaha DSPAX1 just over a year ago to the (then) new RSP1098 procesor, never looked back

I have a Rotel system. The 1068 pre but I went for the bigger power amps (1095 5-channel and 1080 2-channel) to drive my 4 ohm M&K speakers.

Very pleased with the results. I would imagine you'd have to spend a lot more money to get something noticeably better. Power amps are big though - you need a big rack.

I am using Rotel power amp rmb-1075 connected to the three front speaker pre outs of Yamaha RXV740 AV receiver. Rear speakers are still connected to Yamaha speaker ends. The result is very satisfactory compared to the case that all speakers connected to Yamaha. Now I increase volume knob less, loudness is hihger than before. And sound is crystal clear net and no humm at all.
