Question toshiba hack

Can any Toshiba SD100E owners confirm that a software hack has been found for this player?
I was told previously that hardware upgrades were the only way to upgrade.
Also , the source indicates that the hack allows the playing of RCE discs - I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me what RCE discs are.

RCE: Region Code Enhancement

The DVD will ask the player if it's a Region 1, Region 2 etc player.
If the answer is YES more than once (as for all players with automatic codefree function, aka Code 0) it will refuse to play.
In case of a manual region selection (usually via the remote control) the answer will be YES only once and it will play.

There are - as usual - some exceptions to the rule, I have seen the Asian version of the Pioneer DV-636 playing RCE discs (ie The Patriot & Hollow Man, both R1) in automatic mode.

Toshiba players can IMHO not be hacked by a code and need a hardware modification.
But tell me if I am wrong, I am also looking for a new player and would be interested in a Tosh ....

If I can't eat it, drink it or f**k it, I ain't interested.

I think Techtronics have a hardware mod for Tosh now.

Otherwise you'll have to search when the disc is in stop mode and search on the TITLE that the film is located on.

Not desireable as you lose the menus.
