Unlocking An Aiwa FX7700 VCR
Bit of a long shot, but I thought I'd give this a try. I've got an Aiwa FX7700 Nicam VCR I've had for years (I now use my Humax Box ). I could never remember the PIN, and used a Hack I saw online about 2 years ago.
Now someone's unplugged it and it's asking for the PIN again, I can't remember the Hack to unlock it! Can anyone jog my memory? (I'll write a note of it this time..Doh)
Thanks in advance.

Try...
Power on,
Press both CH/UP key and REC/OTR key for more than 2 seconds,
OK will appear in the display panel.

Thank You Lynx- My daughter must have pressed the wrong buttons on her FX7700 - I was just about to consign it to the bin but I used your unlock suggestion and hey presto it works again and better still my daughter is happy.
Cheers !

Can't Get It To Unlock!
Thanks for replying. I've only just read this, months after my original post! Someone's sent a video and I'm trying to use my FX7700 again.
I've tried holding CH/UP and REC/OTR for ages on the remote, (yes, the batteries work) and on the video itself, but it doesn't unlock! I know it's two buttons, but I'm darned if I can remember them..

Dear Lynx
I'm writing this quick note to say thank you for providing the info to unlocking my aiwa vcr fx7700. It now works perfectly. I was about to throw it away but in a moment of clarity I decided to search the web to find possible reasons for its failure to work. I found the AV forum and your answer. Again thank you.

Press CH DOWN key on VCR while pressing the 7 key on remote and hold for more than 5 seconds.
The display should then show OK.

First disable the child lock by pressing the "lock" button on the remote,
and only then press "Ch-" and "7".

Nope, as a consumer equipment supplier they no longer exist.
Your VCR may be faulty.
