Panasonic DVD and HD Recorder in one (!)

The HM-DR1 which will go on sale in Japan soon is a DVD-RAM recorder and comes with a 40GByte hard disk.<br />You can copy from HD to DVD-RAM or DVD-R (yes, both) and from DVD-RAM to HD; it is not mentioned if copies from DVD/-R to HD are possible (I guess not ...).<br />The data transfer rate of 22 Mbps allows also high-speed copies (around 12 times).<br />Price is around 200.000 Yen (~DEM4000) but it's not stated if and when it will go on sale in Europe.
