Region hack for Sony DAV-5300?

Hi does anyone know of a multi region hack for the Sony DAV-5300 because my brother in law has just bought one and would like to play my region 1 dvds on it.
any help would be most welcome.

Sorry folks, but Sony players are amongst the brands that cannot be handset hacked and need to be chipped (unless one of the designer/engineers involved in its construction can let us know of a secret code)
