Unhappy Product Marketers keep re-writeable DVD out of reach

http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/2001/17/ns-22622.html

This is such a shame. My VCR is shot and I'm supposed to payout stacks only to have to pay out stacks later on. And if I want playback I have to use 3 different formats.

Get real.

DVD R/W is here now on PCs. Put it into VCRs, e-mail philips, sony et al and complain

Hmmm, bit steep I agree.

Though I bet that £2.5k pricetag drops like a stone after a few months, and when competition starts appearing.

Forget about the price of the recorder, what price are the discs?
