I am trying to find a supplier with a stand to suit a Philips 37PF9986. Does anyone have any ideas on who to try. I think that the stand I need is a Philips ST42 9986 ? It is the table top stand that I am after.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Dogz,

I have the 32" 9986 which comes with a pedestal stand and I remember a thread a few weeks ago where somebody was looking for a stand for the 37". I don't know why Philips don't include it? Perhaps they reckon the extra size of the 37" would mean that most folks will wall mount it.

Anyway, I also remember that this chap managed to find one eventually...problem is, he lived in Germany, or Holland, oe Belgium.....

The stand you mention is the right one. It is the same as the one for the 42".

Very helpful....

Try Kemnark - they have a 3 shelf design which is almost exactly the same width as the screen. Brushed steel legs.

Looks nice, and plenty of space for peripherals underneath the screen. You do need the Philips table top stand to sit on it though.

If you search for my recent posts someone else quoted the model numbers for each of the stands.

Yeah, that was me!

Dogz is looking for the pedestal bit so that the TV can then sit on a stand like the Kenmark. The big Kenmark is beautiful and would suit the 37" as much as it suits the 32". If you want a picture of this set up, let me know..

Is anyone aware whether the 37PF9986 is supposed to be supplied with any stand out of the box?

Got a wall bracket with mine, but no means of putting the screen on a flat surface instead. Am aware you can by an official stand for about £200 (anyone seen for any cheaper?), but is this my only option for putting the screen on a table top?

Thanks in advance.

I'll be glad to sell my stand which is the normal table top stand, but I've got a 32pf9986. I think it's the same anyways. But forst I have to get hold of my stand which is a st009966 that Philips have promised to release in January but still waiting.

I'm also waiting on the Philips stand (ST009966/AF). I have it on order from Unbeatable, but they are waiting for stock - which I think at the moment translates to Philips haven't actually shipped any yet. I found a site in Europe which claims they will be in stock on February 15th (but I'm not holding my breath!)

TV (32PF9986) turns up tomorrow, so is going to end up sat on a (sturdy) bedside table till the stand comes

As far as I can see if you buy the 37PF9986 you get the wall bracket. If you buy the 37PF9986C you get the table top stand.

Hope that helps

Ehuggy, I take it that the stand you're referring to is Philips Floor stand. I wouldn't wait around too long for Philips to come up with stock.....

There are plenty other attractive options available which suit the 9986 to a 'T'

Based on the comments above, I guess this means that unless I purchase a Philips stand or fix the wall bracket, there's no way I can get my new (and unused!) screen up and running?
Guess it stays in the box 'til I get a stand!

I had no problem getting one here in Ireland. Ordered it locally and they had one down from Dublin the following day. Paid €300 euro for it. Its a beautiful floor stand and well worth the wait. Took me hours to put it together though!

Ricardfred - where did you get order your stand from? I wonder if I can persuade them to deliver over to England, because 300Euro is a lot less than Unbeatable's price.

Jimsan - this is the stand that has met with wife approval so I'd be risking a lot to try others. I saw you mentioned Kenmark earlier, was there a particular model in mind?

I was looking for information about the ST009966 stand.
I can't find his dimensions or if it does swivel or not.
Anyone has seen one or has this kind of info?
Thanks

My local retailer ordered it from
Philips Electronics Ireland Ltd

As I bought the 37Pf9986 as well from them they may have given me stand at cost price, so may be cheaper for that reason. Perhaps you should try phoning the UK Philips office.

I spoke with Philips a couple of weeks ago and they just redirected me to their preferred dealer Dutch West who also had no idea of a delivery date and were quoting £447. Hence why I went for Unbeatable.

It is good to hear that they are/were in stock over in Ireland though as it at least means they do exist

If I recall the stand is 1010mm wide (roughly the same as the 37" screen) and the shelve area is 530mm deep. The screen, raised on a sort of pedistal above the two low shelves, swivels about 25 degrees. I have mine in an alcove so the fact you can swivel it is great. Also the ambilight lights up the alcove beautifully.

Can tell me the height of the 32PF9986 (at the front) including the stand - or even just how much extra the stand adds to the dimensions of the set? TIA

db

PS (edited - oops!) I mean the table stand supplied by Philips.

Exactly 67cm from table top to TV top.

It's all a bit confusing - but the 32PF9986 comes with table-top stand (ie pedestal) AND a wall bracket. The 37PF9986 comes only with a wall bracket, and the table-top stand is an OPTIONAL EXTRA. The SWIVEL version of the table-top stand is the ST429966 (not 9986) - this is the one I have on my 37PF9986. The FIXED table-top stand (non swivel) is the ST429986.

The "elusive" floor stand with the glass shelves (ST009966) I have haven't seen in the flesh, but I emailed Philips when I was considering getting one - they sent back the following note:

With regards to your query we can advise that the dimensions for the
37PF9986 Floor Stand are as follows ( We only have the dimensions with
the 37PF9986 included ) :

Width : 1086 mm
Height : 1180 mm
Depth : 575 mm

According to the Philips 2004-5 catalogue it has rotating swivel and two glass shelves.

Have eventually received my stand (st009966/af) from electricaldiscountuk at £327. Not bad. It's an attractive stand but I find it a little to small width-wise. It does the job nevertheless.

Do not use Dutch West to purchase anything....they're miles over the mainstream price.

Could someone do me a favour and measure the width of the desktop stand?
The space I have is exactly 82cm for the stand, I have seen one web site that shows the width as 82.4cm...I'm just praying that is a generous measurement?
If you could help it would be really appreciated, I can then buy this thing and get on with watching it.

Thanks,
VF

I will also really like to know the dimensions of the swivel table top stand as I want to make sure it fits my 80cm*28cm tv stand.

Any help will be appreciated as I cannot find this information anywhere.

Thanks

Right cheers still looks a little cheaper here tho €429 works out about £295 but there not in stock till Tuesday, March 01, 2005 so the saving might not be that good if you need it now.

Thanks for that - what i'm looking for are the dimensions of the swivel version of the table top stand ST429966 - http://www.backoffice.be/shop/information.asp?artid=994754

If someone has this stand could he check the dimensions for me please?

esieens - I have just measured mine. The glass base is 918mm wide by 242mm deep and when the TV is in place, it raises it 85mm off whatever you have the pedestal resting on.

Many Thanks Alan much appreciated - are you sure about the width? Otherwise, It would mean that the table top stand (swivel version) of the 32pf9986 is nearly as wide as the tv itself.

Alan D

Measurements correct - it is quite large, but I think because it is designed for use with 32, 37 and 42. Here it is attached to my 37PF9986

If the stand is put against a wall, what is the distance between the wall and the back of the TV? And can cables be neatly tucked away behind the stand? It might be a good alternative for wall mounting, considering the number of cables I'll need to hide. But I don't want the TV to 'stick out' too much.
