What do I need from SCRATCH!!?? (Lutron or what?)

I have normal lights.... that are on a dimmer at the moment.
I want to get downlighters in the lounge and dining area, and also the small entrance porch (1 light here will do!)

Lounge ... I would like to split the lighting ... maybe into 2 zones, so I can switch off the lights by the plasma, and have the lights by the seating on dim.

So is that 4 "circuits" ??

I would love maybe 2 x flourescent lights (are these normal bulbs but coloured?) somewhere in the room to look nice and mix it up.

What do you advise I do?
What kind of lights do I need?
What wattage are they?

I AM A NOVICE... so please help!


Also, luxury would be to have the lighting automatically timed too!
(but not if its gonna cost too much!)

I understand my ceiling would have to come down and restart it all over again? (I also will get some speakers in the ceiling for the surround sound)

It'd also be nice to power the vertical blinds to open/close when I get them!
Can this be done also with the Lutron Grafik Eye ... or would I need something else?

Even though it appears no-one reads this particular forum....

I have been suggested to use Berker products instead of Lutron (from a Berker supplier! obviously)

Reasons:
Lutron have a big main control unit,
Berker do not.

Berker is so much easier to wire up, as all the Lutron's circuits wires have to go into one connection into the mains unit, so around 4 wires threaded into one tiny hole.

I can't give you advice about Lutron or Berker but if you search the forums you will find a couple of posts from me which give some details of my system which is X10 based.

I would suggest that you visit www.automatedhome.co.uk and take a look the ukha yahoo group. It is very active and they should be able to provide more help.
