Prog Scan via scart

Is it possible to carry a prog scan signal via scart from a DVD player to component inputs on a rear projection screen? or do you need component outputs to component inputs to achieve prog scan?

Now i am not 100 percent sure on this, but I think the only way for a progressive scan signal to be carried is either via componenet to componenet or componenet to vga. I know that scart to componenet wont do progresive scan though.
