Audio sync on sky

I know this has been mentioned a few times, but is there anything i can do to eliminate the sound going out of sync when watching sky, BBC1 is the worst, tried changing the audio delay on my surround kit, but not much improvement. watching sky on a LG 42" plasma. Sky box is an amstrad, i changed this from the pace box i had originally had no end of trouble with it switching off, freezing etc.

I quite often get audio sync problems on my normal TV even when not going though my Av amp. My problem seems to be with the +1 channels mainly although it can happen randomly on other channels. I think a lot of time it's a problem at the broadcast end rather than a problem at our end.

I have old skybox with no digital sound. Lipsync was bad with audio connected from sky to amp. Cured completely by running audio from screen to amp instead.
Does your LG have audio out? If so try it.

I am surprised your amps audio delay system can't correct the problem, assuming it's down to the extra processing time required by the display.
It may be that if the problem is with the SKY+ and/or broadcast then the amp may simply not have enough "delay" to compensate.

There is a standalone device (using digital audio) which can delay the signal perhaps more so than an amps ability, worth considering perhaps... Felston

Try connecting the sky directly to the plasma rather than the DVD.
Also, have you turned the skybox off for a minute of so to reset it?
