Sky+ Deleting Recordings

Hi Chaps

Has anyone seen their Sky+ box delete their recordings?

This is the second time this has happened, it hasnt deleted all of the recordings but most of the ones I havnt archived off as yet.

I have instant rewind set to 5 mins, there was over 40% space available.

We turn the box off when not in use (via remote) and tbh this is starting to pee me off considerably!

RF2 output is totally rubbish - 15 days before the year is up, so I will give then a shout and complain again! Just wanted to know if anyone else has the same issue?

Thanks

Tone

Why not set it to manual delete only then?

In regards to the RF2 output, have you manually tuned it to avoid clashes with the local RF frequencies used by terrestrial analogue/digital plus existing RF hardware in your home?

I have indeed but whatever I tune them to I get interference. The RF passthrough is better than watching the actual SKY signal, which is the reverse of the problem I had before this box was given to me!

With regards to Auto/Man disk management - yes I forgot about that one, but even with over 50% of the disk available why should it delete stuff?

God its awful!

Chaps - further to this issue I had, does anyone know why the Sky+ box fails to record?

Is there any thing anywhere that outlines some of the reasons for failed recordings?

Cheers

Tone

Reasons for failure....

1) Poor reception/installation
2) HD spin up time
3) EPG errors
4) Now & Next info errors
5) Corrupted hard drive
6) Corrupted/buggy software
7) User intervention
9) Overheating
8) Murphys Law

I think that about covers it but anyone else feel free to add anything further
