Advice regards replacement sky + box please

Had my PVR1 replaced last month. Paid the £65 engineer call out and they supplied a replacement PVR1 (Grade A) - is this a new or re-conditioned box?

I'm now getting a recurrent problem where the signal inputs are ' not locked' and eventually there is no satellite signal. Is this likely to be the box or the LNB ?

All cables are secure. Despite unplugging and switching back on still no signal being received. I have an engineer coming out Tuesday but is there anything I can try in the meantime?

Comments / advice appreciated.
