How can I control my devices with the cupboard closed?

I've got a Pio Plasma, a Denon amp, Pio DVD player and sky + that I would like to control the major operations with one remote.

The question is that I keep them in a cupboard which has a solid MDF door. I would like to be able to control these bit with the door closed (dont ask why!)

I like the sound of the harmony range - is this possible with this?

Or do I have to go for something like the pronto?

How would such a system work.

Thanks in advance

Have a look at a few websites, http://www.remotecentral.com http://www.xantec.com for a few ideas. You could look at a system like the Philips Pronto and then either use the RF extender or use a IR relay system from Xantec.

The prices can range from a few hundred upto a several thousands for complete home automation systems like Crestron and AMX.

Had a Xantech system but Ir flooding from plasma caused problems - have just gone RF via (Home Theatre Master Mx850 / MRF250) and while it took some effort in settnig up ... works fantastically now.

QED make a system called roomlink that will do the job and has discrete IR Outputs not just flood emitters

Some lateral thinking... How about a cabinet with a glass door?
