Just to poke my nose in here ... Mark made us a pair of SVideo cables awhile back before offering them for public sale.
The difference and clarity in picture, wow. Was gobsmacked when testing them out, and even the missus spotted it straight away.
I ended up selling one of them on to Vinesh on here and his reaction about the cable was identical to ours.

I'm confused!
Hi Mark
I would like one of these cables, but as a newbie I want to make sure that they will do the job for me before I spend some money!
Could you take the time to read below and see if they are suitable for my application:
I want to connect a Pace twin PVR in one room to a 15" LCD tv in another room. The distance under the floor would be about 13m, and I am unsure about which connections to use between the two.
Both the Pace and the tv have S-video ports, scart, phono audio, so my question is.....
Which technology would be the best for a long run such as this?
I have found 15m scart leads but suspect they would be of low quality. Would it be better to go the separate route of s-video/RCA phono audio from the likes of Mark Grant?
I would not be using the crap speakers on the LCD tv, but going straight to a hifi amp.
Thanks in advance
Steve

Hello Steve,
For a distance of 13M , the Belden 1808A S-video will be great, as long as the LCD TV provides a good picture with S-video input.
Maybe test this by moving the LCD TV near the Pace and trying with a 1M cable. If you get a good picture with a budget 1M cable ,you will be happy with the Belden 1808A at 13M
For the Audio, Canare LV61S is excellent. ( thread is here)
There are people on the forums using this at 20M between lounge AV and Bedroom Plasma etc.
Not as cheap as budget cables, but this is a quality product
A 15M RGB only scart might be OK, but you would still need to run audio, as a fully wired 15M scart would have fairly thin cores, so might not be perfect at 15M, depends on the quality you are aiming for really.
You will get a picture with any cable at long lengths, a good quality cable will give you a sharper more colorful picture.
Hope that helps !
Thanks,
Mark.

Hello Mark
I need to clip my cable to a joist in certain places. What is the diameter of the cable so I can get the correct clips?
Cheers
Steve
