Aliens Japanese Ultime DTS version

Just wonder if the 2-disc R2 Japanese DTS version of Aliens, has the extra 17/18 minutes of footage in there as well ???

saw your post and had a look at my uk 2 disc any saw no dts so i logged onto dvd compare and the aliens page

they reckon that :

OVERALL: R1
Region 1 new 2-disc Collectors Edition (taken from Quadrilogy) allows you to listen to the audio commentary with either version of the film, but on the regions 2/4 (new 2-disc SE), the tracks are available only on: "Special Edition". Japanese R2 ?release includes a DTS audio track, but has only the Theatrical version.

ive just checked mine and its only the extended version.

The Japanese release of Aliens has DTS but it doesnt have both versions of the film, just the Special Edition version.

So "Special Version", the extra 17mins of footage such as the extra stuff at the start when they find the alien space ship, and the extra sceens with the remote sentry guns ??

Yes, the Special Edition version is the one with added scenes.

I've just purchased (on ebay) a 4 cd set with all four dts, digitally remastered and thx cetified. Got it for £20.50. Seems to good to be true. Can't wait, hope it's not a con.

I guess it was regionfree as well ? Sounds like you bought a bootleg....(esp as it should be a 9 disc set!)
