SH*T, in total since last Thursday I've just bought/ordered 18 DVD's from various sources. Some new some old and some that just looked at me and said "buy me". Am I the saddest case or can someone top that ?

It happened to us all mate.

Lucky (??) for me there are three things stopping this from happening to me now:-

(1) I have exhausted the back-catalogue collection of available DVDs I want;

(2) I have to be sure a film is not RCE thus preventing me from making huge pre-orders and...

(3) there are no good new films out these next few month.

I presume money is no object then?

It's not the money, but the damn time to watch the films, because I'm busy working to earn the money.... http://www.wvip.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

5 discs turned up today to go with the 2 that arrived on Tuesday. Not quite in the same league as Pseudo_Man, but I'm about to order a few more tonight.

No good films coming out in the next few months? Well there's Billy Elliott, Close Encounters, Crouching Tiger (R1) and Traffic and I can't wait to get my hands on Charlie's Angels http://www.wvip.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Strange how many of the topics brought up over at the DVD forums make their way over here at some point! http://www.wvip.co.uk/ubb/wink.gif

This is the re-named thread "Am I addicted to buying DVD's?" and I'm so glad I read that one. I was starting to think that gazing lovingly at my collection was just a tad on the sad side, but it seems there are many others in the same boat so I don't feel quite so bad now!

Been a little better lately though. Only bought about 5 since Xmas and only 2 on pre-order. http://www.wvip.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Unfortunately Floyd I am not a bottomless pit and my bank balance proves this. Problem is, I recently went on a serious upgrade path and found myself justifying my DVD purchases on this. OK my collection is around 150 now and it can be quite satisfying, but I find that the ones I bought to replace some favourites I had on video, are watched once and that's it. I even found myself watching Life of Brian the other night on TV, when I have the DVD sitting on my shelf !.

I think I should rename this thread

"You know when you've bought too many DVD's when ..."

OOPs that's let the cat out of the bag ! http://www.wvip.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

What do you mean Ono

"Billy Elliot, hardly blockbuster stuff."

True but why does it have to be a blockbuster to be good. I'm my opinion it was a very good film.

Also Close Encounters and Traffic were both excellent.

Charlie's Angels was dreadful. It proves you can't make a film out of attractive women and action alone.

Ono,

I'm going to really hack you off now, by telling you that the R2 version of the T2:UE set has been delayed again until October 2001!!

All I can say is, sod R2 companies, and give the e-tailers and Yanks, your hard-earned cash instead! When they say a disc is out, they get the disc out! Yet over here, they just feed you endless excuses about technical issues, copyright problems, and player compatability! F*** 'em! I want my DVD's, not this kind of garbage!

Vote R1: for your sanity, if nothing more!
