as a big fan of "the shield" i've been waiting for season 3 to be released on DVD. normally i buy tthe region 2 but this time i thought i'd buy the region 1 to save waiting but after this:

I'm not going to bother - 16:9 is the way to go, 4:3 is dead!!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!!

Normally, I'd agree, but when Season 3 was shown in widescreen on Channel Five recently, some of it looked horribly cropped in places (tops of heads missing etc).

4:3 is apparently how the creator of the show prefers it. (much like the Buffy guy)

(& the region 1 has much nicer packaging) :)

the R2 are both widescreen and look fab. i've not watched it on telly (see any number of previous posts on why i rarely watch TV these days) anoth american "donkey" decision. :rolleyes:
