No idea about the DVD but I agree with you that it's a great film. I only have a vhs ex-rental and would love a better copy, so let me know if anything turns up. Thanx. I also have the sountrack, tho, which I thought was a real find!

Yeah, I've not seen it for at least 15 years (I think), but I'd love to re-watch it on DVD.
I think it was a PolyGram film (?), which means it might turn up on MGM.

Stumbled across this when looking for a copy of Electric Dreams on Laserdisc as I recently (finally), bought a Laserdisc player.
If anyone is interested, think the film mainly was part of Virgin Records. The soundtrack has been available for ages as I think the film was possibly a bit of an experiment by the producer, one Sir Richard Branson, of producing a film revolving around the music rather than the characters (a novel idea I am sure you'll agree) lets face it, we all remenber the songs, the artists, but many do not remember the characters. The problem possibly occured as Virgin owns all the rights of the music, but MGM the rights to the film. Virgin records have been sold to Sony BMG, so I think with all these happenings it would be a legal minefield to release again, so no company wants to take on the task. I work for Virgin retail and have had many customers ask for the film over the years. Lets hope they do so! I am not saying I am an expert in any of this, and my facts may be a bit off, if they are then sorry, please contact me to put me right. Oh, and I do not make statements for the company I work for. Cheers!

Electric Dreams (1984)
An artificially intelligent PC and his human owner find themselves in a romantic rivalry over a woman.
Any sign of Electric Dreams ever likley to appear on dvd?, it was one of the first films i saw on the cinema in the 80s,
and its a fun little movie, that younger generation in the household would like to see.
cue the music video
