Sky + New HDD?

I have read here about upgrading the HDD on my sky+{ box. It seems that all i need is a 120gb ide 7500rpm hard drive? Will this connect the same as a pc - ie ribbon cable?

Will the drive need formatting? If so, please explain (In as simples, IDIOT PROOF instructions).

Thank you all in advance for your help on this.
