Firstly apologies if this in the wrong place. I couldn't decide wether it would better here or in dvd players. Feel free to move.

I've copid some camcorder movies onto my pc via firewire and windows movie maker. They are saved as mpgs. I don't have a dvd writer, only a cd writer and I want to know if I can copy them onto cd and play back in my dvd player. I have a Denon DVD-A1. I've tried before but if I remember rightly it wouldn't play them because of the file type.
Does anyone know if they need to be converted to a different file type and what the DVD-A1 recognises (maybe VCD). And finally can I use windows movie maker to convert it into something the A1 will play. Its the only software I have.

Many thanks.

You will need to convert to vcd.

Check out the below site, it has many guides on how to convert.
