Andrew Smith wasn't too keen on the 1978 version... but this latest remake of Dawn Of The Dead really gives him something to get his teeth into.

I think the flat blacks and overly saturated colour are intentional and not indicative of a less than optimum master. It looks like a pseudo bleach-bypass.

its how it looked at the cinema, I thought it was quite a nice effect on the big screen

I didn't see it at the cinema so I can't comment on whether this was intentional or not, but it did have me checking my screen/projector due to the high contrast levels. The edge enhancement is however, unforgivable.
