Can't find the original thread when you asked as to their service (not inlc. the recent upset of course).

I ordered R1 Sopranos boxset 2 weeks previously.
It was posted to me on 14th May.
Account debited £47.08.
Arrived this morning, 23rd.

Stuck to bottom of package was a £7.70 vat sticker.
Now I don't know if I'll be invoiced at a later date or if the postie just didn't look, but I'll either get away with the £7.70 or it'll appear later. But it is worded as if I had to pay 'upfront'. So I'll let you know if anything comes of it.

Thanks for the thought General. I've got to confess I chicken'd out of ordering from A&B a couple of weeks ago to give Star a try. Still no discs yet , but in light of what happened to A&B I'm breathing a sigh of relief!

Knowing HM Customs, probably after you die, will be considered reasonable by them. :D

Personally, I'd contact the DVD firm, and see what they have to say. They may be willing to refund you the amount, or refund you 50% of it! If they won't refund you, screw 'em, and order elsewhere!

Worth a shot, at least...

It's more of a test case for me than anything else.
Just wondered if/how customs 'get' you!
I'm not worried about it as such, as the £7.70 would only take it up to what I would have paid for it in the UK anyway.
So I wait and see..................

Only ever got charged the once for an overseas shipment, wasn't in when postie arrived so went to sorting office to pick it up. That's where they hit me for an extra fiver-ish.

Ref AB sound, I have now ordered 3 times from them, 1st order was 3 disks, 2nd was 2 then last week I got another shipment of 3, never been charged extra, so I guess sopranos, must be that little bit heavier.
