hi there.
i am wondering if anyone else has come across the following problem and if so did they managed to fix it.
so here goes:
basically, laptop was running fine,i installed service pack 2 and again all seemed fine.
i then went online, and, after a few moments the mouse froze.
this was solved briefly by pressing the control key but again after a few moments it froze.
this only seems to happen when running the internet.
the service provider is btopenworld if that helps????
so,if anyone has any ideas i'd be most grateful.
paul

update your mouse drivers, seems to be the most common solution

many thanks for the comment.
i forgot to mention the mouse is one of these optical mini-mouse things connected via usb 2.0
so i cannot find any drivers as windows xp just finds it automatically.
any ideas?

is it a Logitech one, by any chance?

As they have a mouse driver/software package you can download

to be honest i cant remember who makes it.
it's just called an x-pro optical mini-mouse.
connected via usb 2.0

I had problems with my Logitech mouse and SP2 until I loaded on the latest drivers for it.

yeah, i knew somebody here did :)

also just try unplugging the mouse and plugging it in again. The reason i say this is, i recently build a PC with XP with a DVD burner, all was ok until i installed the SP. Then the DVD burner was only detected as a standard CD-Rom, so uninstalled it, and re-installed it and it was fine.
