do you know if you still need the normal fm areial to be connected to the dab head unit to get fm, or will the included areial pick up fm as well...?

Yeah, unless you get an (expensive) combination DAB and FM aerial with a splitter into 2 wires for your head unit, the DAB aerial will just let you receive DAB. The advice on the aerials at bluespot is to retain your existing aerial as well.
If I was going to get these I'd get the one that fits to the inside of a window- reception may not be quite as good, but I like my electric aerial where it is and I don't have a permanent roof or back windscreen!
If I'd seen the prices at bluespot I would have probably bought this a few weeks ago, but as it is I'm waiting to see if I get a 6 mth ban, so am investing as little as possible in the car...
