Sorry Garrett, I don't know if the R2 version has been cut. Fortunately the reviews I've seen don't mention any cuts. The R2 version has a better picture and more extras than the existing R1 version. If you are thinking of getting it for this reason, then consider this. 18th September sees the Collectors edition being released on R1. No doubt it will be uncut and these are the extras on the disc so far.
Rare Audio Commentary with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Director Paul Verhoeven<br />"Imagining Total Recall" Documentary<br />Recall's Virtual Vacations<br />'Mars: Fact or Fiction" Featurette<br />Visual Special Effects Comparison Charts<br />Conceptual Art,On-Set Photo Gallery<br />Production Notes,Theatrical Trailer<br />Cast and Crew Information
If you're looking at R2 because thats all you can use, you really owe it to yourself to get your machine modified or replaced. If you have already bought the R2 version, then I hope this info helps others, and well, unlucky.

Garrett,
As far as I know, "Total Recall" has never been censored for cinema, video or DVD release, here in the UK.
For future reference, if a particular R2 title has been released, and you can't find any info about cuts being made or not on DVD sites, then you can always check on the British Board Of Film Classification website.
The address is: <a href="http://www.bbfc.co.uk/" target="_blank">BBFC Website</a>

I dont know about the UK but here there were two versions of the film an uncut R rated version and a cut MA rated version these were both released theatrically at the same time and were edited by the studio. i mention this only because past evidence tells me that the UK censores are stricter than here so its possible the only version you got was the MA version (probably released as R) and as it was a studio edited release they may claim it to be unedited.<br /> you may want to check if such things worry you.

Just thought I’d get back to you and thank you for the info. I was after the disc in the HMV 2 for £20 offer, and did not really fancy any other of the disc in the 2 for £20 range, saw Deep Rising (more Jerry Goldsmith music, as was TR great) and Long Kiss Goodnight, but they were in Pro –Logic. So I will get it some time in the future.<br /> <img src="cool.gif" border="0"> Ruby quartz shades.

Garrett,
You're going to kick yourself might hard in the nads, when you read this next piece of info! <img src="frown.gif" border="0">
There's a newly-released Region 1 DVD of "Total Recall", which is a Special Deluxe Edition, in a weird kind of Mars-shaped tin. Available from most R1 importers for less than £25. <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

It's on the opening page of the <a href="http://movietyme.isys.ca/index.shtml" target="_blank">Movietyme</a> site, you don't even need to search for it!
For questions like this you should always go to the Horse's Mouth...namely
<a href="http://www.bbfc.co.uk" target="_blank">www.bbfc.co.uk</a>
and search on the title. Total Recall was passed as supplied to the BBFC with no cuts made.

It might well have been supplied pre-censored by the production company.
Indeed it may, but you can at least check running times and make an educated guess.
