DVD Storage - Please help
I know that this has been brought-up before but I can't find the older threads. I
want to protect my large DVD collection.
I currently store my DVD's (keep cases AND snapper cases) upright on an open
shelving rack. My room does get quite warm in the summer, but probably no
warmer than the inside of a DVD player. The room is clean and as dry as the air is
(I do NOT have air conditioning or a dehumidifier).
Is this storage solution O.K. or could it be improved? For instance would closed in
cabinets be better than my open racks?
I have had DVD's for over 3 years and have not noticed any deteoriate (touch
wood!). Suggestions however, would be appreciated.

Hi,
From what you have told me so far, there appears to be no problems with you storing your DVD's in this way. This is how I store my DVD's, but luckily for me, the room stays quite cool.
As long as the sunlight isn't directly on the area where the DVD's are, AND as long as the room doesn't get too hot, you should be okay.

err... You live in Kent don't you. I know it's warm at the moment... but the weather over here really isn't a factor. We don't have extremes of temprature. But check out www.soundstyle.net The XS180 holds 130dvds [so why not xs130?] is very stylish, and I hope to get at least two for my birthday. @cause ultimately it's a pose isn't it? 
I should have been a contender, instead of a bum, which is what I am.

Thank you for your responses. I'll definately check out the Sound Style site (sounds really good! 180 DVD's!!).
I measured the temperature in my room where I stack my DVD's / CD's and it was 32 (over 90 degrees!) Is this too hot for DVD's?

For some reason in the brochure I have in front of me it says 130 dvds? So hopefully it is 180... makes it even more desireable.

Over here in Spain the place i´m in can go up to 40+ degrees & doesnt seem to have any effect on my dvds.
Now the player & amp, thats a different matter!
My amp gets bloody hot, saves switching the heater on in winter though!!

Storage of DVD's? I find a fine layer of dust whilst being layed out in a random order around the floor works fine for me.
I kid you not.
