Hi,

Still trying to find out which TV to go for and have heard good things about DLP technology.

What set would everybody go for if they had a budegt of £2500?

Also, how are the new Sumsung DLP sets anybody have one?

Thanks

Trevor

The Sammys are not on release in the UK yet. Lots of owners over in the States though. Have a look on the AVS forum Link (http://avs-forum.com)

Lion,

Glad you like ya new set! I've got one coming in the next week or so - was just wondering if you've had any issues with the rainbow effect others mention? Can't say that I did when I test-viewed the set...be interested to hear any other good/bad points about it as well if you have the time.

Cheers,
Blasthand.

yeah your right, my sagem does the same. Except its more like 3 or 4 minutes which can be a pain in the arse if you want to get up and go in a hurry.

Better that than replacing the lamp every year though!

Guys,

How do you find watching sport on the dlp sets? Is it an improvement over 100hz crt rear pro's?

Cheers,
Blasthand.

I watch a lot of sports and find it great. Had a sony LCDRP tv and sent it back cause it was the worst thing i had ever seen. Got my DLP and the difference was out of this world.
No ghosting
No smearing
Nada!!! :smoke:

I have the LG on order too, can you not just press standby key
and then leave it to do it's thing and just go out?

Oliver.

Saw the Sagem 50" DLP in John Lewis today for £2750...must admit it blew me away. Stunning set.

Must admit it is nice :)
But I think the LG is cracking for £1500, I am planning on keeping the
LG till around 2006 because by that time I expect there will be much higher
native res plasmas/DLP sets around

I didnt want to spend nearly 3k for something that will only just be good enough at the time of HD Sky, so I dont understand why people keep buying PW6's when there going to useless for HD

Am I right in thinking this :suicide:

Yo

Samsung info is up on UK site, but they've got it wrong !
Wrong pictures, specs dont look right either, useless number of inputs.
Well I hope its wrong.

mikey,

Cheers for the reply re sports on the dlp. I don't watch much sport, but am certainly hoping it's better than the 44PX3 for it, so that I can watch the MotoGP races without the edges of the bikes looking all pixeled as they zoom by! :)

Cheers,
Blasthand.
