Captain Scarlet

Ain't It Cool News has posted a report about the release of a trailer for the new Captain Scarlet series.

They link to this BBC Collective page which has the trailer in Real format.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/collective/A2860715

I haven't been able to get the trailer to run yet however from the few screenshots I have seen, this looks very cool. If the storys are up to the same standard as the old series this should be excellent.

Shame its such a small screen size trailer, but certainly looks interesting. Unusual animation style too...

I assume you were able to get the trailer to run then.

All I get is a "General Error" message.

Yes, it runs fine. Although when I first installed real player it took me ages to get it working properly.. Why the BBC can't use Media Player enable files I don't know...

You can enlarge it to full screen but it is a bit blocky and when I did it, it kept freezing the trailer.

Got trailer playing , but a bit stop and start. Never the less it looks very well made, high production values. Hopefully the story lines will equal the visuals. Given that Gerry Anderson is at the helm should be no problems......hopefully.

looks more like cut sequences from a game rather than the new series. I thought Starship troppers looked better, less gamey.

I got the impression that the style of animation was done that way to try and match the old series to a certain extent. The movement of heads when people talk for example has some resemblance to Anderson puppets, (or did I just dream that). Anyway, it is obviously computer generated animation, but looks like it has been intentionally done in a slightly unusual style

It ran fine full screen, but my screen is quite high resolution and it was very blocky so I stuck to the small version

I got it working. Had to play around with some Real settings.

Looks good. Based on this there should be lots of action. It's a bit had to tell how good the animation will look, but from some of the other stills I've seen it's pretty impressive.

Wasn't over-impressed with the style of animation - they should have gone down the "Final Fantasy" route...or just stuck with the puppets and some new stories.

Is it ok for a 35 year old to get excited about the prospects of a new Captain Scarlet?
Can´t wait
