When i restart my computer, my optical mouse turns off and doesnt turn back on. I have to turn the computer off and turn it back on. I have tried other optical mice and i have the same problem. I made this computer but I dont think that has antything to do with it. It is fairly new running an AMD 2400 with MSI-K7N2- delta motherboard. Anyone know what to do????

Is it USB or PS2 connection?
If PS2 is it via adaptor from USB?
If USB have you tried plugging it in one of the other sockets/swapping another device (not another mouse) to the same socket?
Is it in a USB hub?
Do any other USB devices fail to startup properly in other sockets?

If you can give us some of the above it may help mate.

The mouse is usb. yet I have tried using a ps2 adapter that it came with. I also have a usb keyboard which seems to start up ok when I start the computer. I have tried using different usb ports, yet I have the same problem. My power supply is an antec 430v, so I don't think that that could be the problem as I don't have too much other stuff in there. Like I said, the only other usb device I have connected is my logitech keyboard and that seems to load up properly. I currently have my mouse connected through the ps2 adapter

Regardless of PS2 convertor or direct USB my problems were fixed with a BIOS update. I was using a USB mouse with a PS2 adapter and had the same symptoms as you. Simply updated the BIOS and not had a problem since.
