I don't know if this has been covered before but, as far as I'm concerned at least, it's such good news it needs repeating.
Anchor Bay's 4 disk version of Dawn of The Dead comprising three cuts of the movie (Romero's director's cut, the famous extended cut for the Cannes film festival, and Dario Argento's European cut) plus a fourth disc of documentaries and bonus material (in addition to extras such as commentaries specific to each cut) will be released on R1 on September 7th 2004.
The contents of this set have been rumoured and wish lists drawn up for more years than I can remember and it seems that Anchor Bay have delivered everything the fans wanted from them. If nothing else, it'll make the myriad other releases of DOTD redundant. Anchor Bay's restoration work on classic horror is usually pretty good but this looks like a real labour of love from all involved.
I can't wait and am now more excited about this than the Star Wars boxset as this has been on the way for sooooo long now.
