My only option for introducing 5.1 sound into my living room is to house the AV amp on the other side of the room to the TV. (Don't ask...). The DVD player will go with it, but that leaves me having to buy a long scart for the TV/DVD player connection - around 8m. I understand S-Video loses quality over longish runs, but will an RGB signal degrade over this sort of distance?
