Unendurably boring in its superfluousness, its ersatz feel accentuated by a plethora of digital effects, Undead is simply a stiff.
Perhaps I'll give it a miss.

If you like your zombie flicks then i can recomend the uncut version of Junk

here (fairly expensive):-

http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID.3058/qx/details.htm

It's a German uncut reg2 disc but you may be able to find it cheaper if you shop around:)

Unfortunately, I have a bit of a thing about foreign language movies. For some reason, not that I'm illiterate, dyslexic, a pork pie short of a picnic, or anything, I can't cope with reading subtitles all the way through a film.

If you liked Peter Jackson's Bad Taste or Braindead I can't see why you wouldn't like this... it's virtually an unofficial sequel. Suitably gory and funny, I really enjoyed it and have been awaiting the dvd release since last year when I saw it back to back with bubba ho-tep.

My brief review from the time (posted elsewhere): "The action kicks in almost straight away after some brief shots intro scenes of the happy, quirky populus of the small outback town of Berkley.
A shower of asteroids peppers the town and its inhabitants, turning all those infected into brain craving zombies.
A small band of survivors find themselves at Marion's house (Marion being a burly rancher and former gun shop owner ostracized after claims of alien abduction) and arm themselves to the teeth to fight off the 'alien' zombie invasion.
Similar to Jackson's two low budget zombie films, Undead is gory as hell and features as much comedy as it does horror, in fact if you hadn't seen the credits you would pretty much assume you were watching a newly created final installment made by Jackson himself. But Undead has a bit of a budget to work with and manages to use some proper (albeit not great) effects shots, it all looks very competent and some of the camerawork is very nice."

The director brothers raised the $1m (aus) dollar budget mostly from friends and family and completed the FX and scoring (listen out for heavy john williams jaws influences) on their home PC rigs!! That said the fx work is as good as I've seen on much higher budget films and the whole production looks like it cost at least 10 or 15 times the actual budget. The dvd specs look very decent too, I pre-ordered my copy from EzyDVD about a month ago for around £11.

lol ditto. It's watch the movie or read the movie. I can't do both :rotfl:

I can watch movies like Dances with Wolves np though. It's just a 100% sub that I can't handle

If you like horror/zombie films this is well worth a watch.

The ending was daft but I still like the film. Lots of good extras too. I thought the SFX were mostly excellent.

The film is in English.

well it did get better. I liked the ending.

My first post was after 40min. I still think it was pretty poor though, maybe a grower.

I have to admit I watched my dvd last night and found apart from the initial zombie attacks it didn't hold my attention at all (although it does get better towards the end). I watched it last year at a film festival packed full of cult film fanatics whose positive response must have made the film seem a lot better than it actually is.

Marion's performance is far, far too deadpan and the mouthy copper (who is initially funny) grates after a while. The scene in the bunker just goes on and on as well.
